about TDR Academy

Meet Tanya D Ross

I’m Tanya, founder of TDR Academy, established in Ballyclare in 2010.
With over 30 years’ experience in sport, health, fitness and therapy, my aim is simple:
to help people move better, recover from injury, and enjoy being active - whatever that looks like for them.

I bring together my background as an international athlete, sports coach and educator, college lecturer and professional therapist to offer a unique blend of multi-level movement, rehabilitation and bodywork, all under one roof.

My Philosophy

I believe there is a sport or movement practice for everyone. My particular passion lies in rehabilitation and recovery - supporting people back to confident, pain-free movement after injury, stress or long periods of inactivity.

Continuous learning is central to my work. Every year I train with world-class teachers to stay current with the latest evidence-based approaches, so I can offer the most effective treatments and classes locally.

Professional Experience

Whole body movement support

A personalised, holistic approach to recovery, movement and wellbeing. Drawing on decades of experience, I help you overcome pain, manage stress and rebuild strength, confidence and connection in your body — supporting you wherever you are on your journey.

  • A woman and a man in a clinical setting. The woman is examining the man's leg, which is bent at the knee and appears red and inflamed.

    My Approach

I support people through the physical and mental demands of life, work, sport and exercise. Whether you’re managing pain, recovering from injury, or simply feeling worn down, my approach is centred on restoring balance, movement and confidence in your body.

  • Two women performing Pilates or resistance band exercises on black mats using resistance bands attached to a wooden wall-mounted rack in a well-lit indoor space with windows and potted plants.

    How I help

I offer a range of treatments, classes and personalised support designed to help you recover, reset and move forward. Injuries and ongoing pain can be frustrating and limiting — my aim is to help get you back on your feet, moving well and feeling capable again.

    Beyond the session

My work doesn’t stop when you leave the studio. I believe in education and empowerment, providing guidance on self-care, movement strategies, exercise planning and healthy living to support long-term wellbeing.

The hip mobility freedom guide

If you’ve been feeling stiff, sore, or just plain frustrated with how your hips limit your life, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too - and I know how discouraging it feels when your body seems to be working against you.
